Please help us bridge the Digital Divide? resources Lockdown has caused a stark digital divide in the UK, with 1.9 million households having no access to the internet and tens of millions more reliant on pay-as-you-go services to make phone calls or access healthcare, education and help online. We have a team of volunteers trained and ready to visit isolated people in their homes, to offer support with the use of a connected device, which can be used to video-chat with family or friends, have a video chat with a health professional or with anyone able to provide the help and support needed. Please help us help isolated and vulnerable people connect with the wider world. To make this happen, we need to purchase tablets and data packages to take to people whose isolation can be lessened by the use of technology. A tablet costs approximately £75. A basic data package £14 per month. We also need to cover the cost of the fuel that volunteers use to visit people. The more money we can raise, the more people we can get connected. We have a volunteer team poised and ready and are recruiting more volunteers to visit more people, but each volunteer needs a device. We also need to cover the cost of the fuel that volunteers use to visit people. We're a local, independent charity and rely on fundraising to provide our services. Donating just £3 will help us deliver a vital service to the most vulnerable people in our community If you can afford to give a little more, that would be awesome. Thank you so much for your help.
