Abi Knipe Thanks for visiting my page everyone.

So, those that know me know that I have been experimenting with this running thing for... well. That's a long story. I got my first pair of trainers and started to talk about becoming 'a runner' in 2008. Well, that didn't stick. I didn't even lace them up, let alone leave the house. In late 2018, shamed by my partner Stephen seemingly spontaneously taking to the thing like a gazelle, with no fuss, lead-in time or announcement, I started the NHS's 'Couch 2 5k'. I finished this nine-week programme after... 22 weeks.

Anyway, on 23 February I will be tackling my first 10k run to raise funds for Citizens Advice North Oxfordshire and South Northants. I've been a trustee of CANOSN since December 2018, and I've seen first hand the care taken to ensure that every person is treated as an individual and receives high quality advice fit to their circumstances. I've also been so impressed with the work colleagues are doing to make sure that support is available in the spaces and ways the our community needs - from partnerships with doctors surgeries and local community organisations, to new digital hubs.

I was so surprised to learn that this work isn't automatically funded by goverment, and that CANOSN and other Citizens Advice up and down the country need to raise a significant amount of money to make sure this vital support remains available to all of us when we need it.

So I'm doing my bit - mud and blisters and freezing weather and all. Please give what you can for this fantastic cause. And please do come along to the Winter Woolly run at Elstree School and support me and the other runners on the 23rd. Abi Knipe
