Alan is a practising lawyer whose main role is General Counsel for The Royal Parks, the charity which manages the eight Royal Parks in London. He also advises small businesses. 

He worked for British Airways Plc for many years in both legal and commercial roles.  More recently, he worked as a very hands-on legal director at Bicester Village.  In between, he worked at BUPA and for the John Lewis Partnership.  He has also served as a pensions trustee, a charity trustee, a non-executive director of a listed company and as vice-chairman of one of the UK’s largest social housing organisations.

Alan and his wife live in Oxford and have two grown-up daughters living in London. He loves walking and cycling, cinema and theatre but most of all wine and opera.
